Higos Announces New Partner Charity Mosaic 2025/2026
At Higos, we’re delighted to announce our new charity partner for 2025/2026 will be Mosaic, a Dorset-based charity dedicated to supporting bereaved children.
Every two years our branch teams and Charity Committee get together to choose a Charity Partner to work closely with for two years. We're committed to supporting our new partner charity by participating in a calendar of events for the year ahead.
Mosaics Mission
Mosaic provides specialist support for children and young people in Dorset who have lost someone significant in their lives.
Founded in 2007, Mosaics mission is to help families deal with the impact of a death, by providing qualified counsellors who meet and talk with the child or young person, helping them understand and manage feelings of grief and anxiety.
The charity is Dorset-wide and helps young people between the ages of 4 and 18 who have lost a loved one. This could be a parent, grandparent, sibling or friend. In just under half of the referrals, the charity is helping children or young people where a parent has died.
Teachers in primary and secondary schools from all over Dorset refer children into Mosaic for counselling support and advice. In 2024, Mosaic provided counselling to 412 children and young people. Mosaic holds bereavement cafés in Dorset schools, which provide a gentle space for young people to come and share their experiences around grief. The cafes can take away some of the isolation that a young person can feel when dealing with a death. Meeting other young people and staff who have also had someone they love die, can be a huge relief. The charity also offers fun day camps, activity days and family events for supported families.
